For Covered Girls
We are seeking a budding editor looking for a summer project to take on.
Our project is a short docu-series titled For Covered Girls, directed by Tisch '15 alum Baraa Ktiri. The series examines women's religious and cultural headwrap practices, with our pilot focusing on the hijab and what it means to be a visibly Muslim woman in the US today. Our series serves as a corrective to the lack of mainstream media representation for women and girls who wear the hijab.
At this point, we have filmed half of our pilot and want to bring an editor on board to start helping us craft the episode. We have a paper edit and outline for the pilot, but definitely want to have a creative editor on board to weigh in.
Ideally, we would want the editor to start in May and work on a freelance basis through September, with a solid rough cut done by then. This is an unpaid position.
If you are interested in learning more about the project, please email Natalie Erazo at firstname.lastname@example.org
