Your Shade of Blue
Casting for an NYU Undergraduate student thesis film!
Seeking performers able to portray the following:
Mi-kyung (35-45)- female lead. Korean. A former English teacher at an elementary school. It has always been easy for Mi-kyung to give love. However, due to her identity as a queer person in a society that refuses to accept her, she has built a protective shell around her and grows increasingly distant. Gentle by nature, Mi-kyung has been a motherly figure to her niece until she has cut connections with her family.
Min-ah (18-25)- female lead. Korean American. A recent college graduate. Min-ah is independent, studious, and eager to support her family. Caring by nature, she has followed her mother’s footsteps and became a nurse. Identifying as queer, she seeks acceptance that has proven difficult to find in her culture. Recalling Mi-kyung and Soo-ae, she is hopeful of their reunion serving a greater purpose.
Soo-ae (35-45)- supporting role. Korean. Mi-kyung’s lover and her anchor. A high school math teacher, she is extroverted and optimistic. Coming from a humble family, she has built a steady career of her own through her own hard work and strong will. More tough skinned than Mi-kyung. She believes in their relationship and protects it the best she can.
(All roles are spoken in Korean. Must be fluent in Korean)
